The Myra Tiffin Performing Arts School, based in Stony Stratford, begins a brand new timetable for thursday evenings, with a selection of dance classes taken by Professional Dancer Rosina Andrews.
Classes in Hip Hop, Musical Theatre and Advanced Jazz will bring the school bang up to date with the latest dance trends and techniques. Whilst working in the classes, we will link together the different styles and energies from the students to create an atmosphere perfect for learning and improving your dancing.
Musical Theatre: For pupils aged 12 and upwards. A fun class that will change every week, learn the latest routines, musical theatre pieces and experience in all different genres. With Rosina's knowledge of auditions, teaching and the theatrical business, you will learn the most recent routines, so when you go to the theatre you will recognise the moves and see them performed to the highest standard by the professionals giving you an insight into how hard these performers work.
Junior HipHop: For pupils aged 8-12years. A fast and funky class, learning the latest routines and enhancing picking up skills and performance for auditions. Having had a week of disciplined school and syllabus dance classes this is a welcome break for these children to let their hair down and have fun meanwhile improving their knowledge and versatility of dance genres from a younger age.
Advanced Jazz: For pupils GRADE 5 and upwards. A student a class based on improving stamina, technique and performance with audition technique preparation and knowledge. Please note, this is not for the feint hearted! As we realise a lot of our older pupils are just about to take up dancing professionally at further training colleges, it is vital for them to begin to get the mentality and stamina of a full time dance student prior to leaving the school.
These classes will be part of the permanent timetable starting from the September 2009 term. If you require any more information or would like to sign up to this exciting new venture, please contact either Rosina or The Myra Tiffin Performing Arts School directly.
Look forward to seeing you in these classes!
I think your Marketing piece is well written and full of content. I think its precise and markets your classes well.
ReplyDeleteI think that the actual amount that you have written is just the right amount, i know that you have not written 500 words but i really don't think that its necessary, i think you have written enough to grab the readers attention enlighten them about your classes and leave them time to take everything in.
I really like that you have expressed your classes and have been honest about what they will really consist of you have done this well when marketing your Advance Jazz class where you say it's not for the feint hearted.
Maybe to make this piece final you could attach a link for your full timetable so that people could see classes on the other days of the week such as a website legitimate or not, this marketing piece is just for your new classes but it also can offer light on what else your school offers without it been direct.
Hey abbi,
ReplyDeletei was thinking of adding a full timetable to the writing but then wondered if that would be too much irrelevant information? do you think a comparison to the normal classes is imporatant? I was also thinking about the audience that was reading this piece, i would think at first glance the children would read it so it must be inspiring however the it must also appeal to the parents as they will be the ones letting there children join and paying for it! I was thinking of adding some pictures, i will post a new draft, let me know what you think!

Sometimes reading something for the first time often raises points that when reading the second time seem unnecessary, I think that I have doe this when commenting on your marketing piece.
ReplyDeleteLooking back yes I think your right that it would be to much information adding your timetable, you could maybe just say “for information on other classes contact” etc, and no a comparison is not important as you are advertising what you want to but you are advertising so think its still valuable to mention other classes just for the sake of marketing, what do you think?
I think that pictures will attract the children so maybe you should include something, also some colour, maybe highlight the genres, Michelle Wallbanks did this and it is very clever as the parents can just read the highlighted parts and know it’s about dance.
