Versatility is necessary to succeed in the Dance industry 'especially as dance companies diversify there repertoires' ( 2006 Dance Magazine, Inc.) Many new ventures in contemporary dance are mixed with other forms of dance and create new dance genres regularly looking to alter people's perception of the [dance] scene by merging contemporary and commercial dance forms' (2009 , Inko). Anyone who went to the campus session want to tell me if I'm, completely barking up the wrong tree?
I know I'm going to find it very hard to write 500 words for each group, especially in the descriptive category as even from a child i was great at essays but rubbish at creative writing!!!
Hello i didnt go to the campus session but i have learnt through research that descriptive writing should be aimed at the 5 senses of the body such as sound, touch taste etc,its describing something that you can picture in your mind.
ReplyDeleteMaybe talk about the way dance looks to you, describe the shapes, the style how it makes you feel and relate the new classes to your senses.
Peter has posted info from the campus session on his blog it gives you break downs and advice. Alan also said that as we have to comment on eachothers work to avoid noting what style of writing we are trying to achieve, the info on Peters blog might be easier to understand.
