Log 3: Summary of Key Findings

Concluding my research I gathered four key findings evaluating my hypothesis. Cross-checking literature, with data from my 9-18year old surveys and interview responses from industry professionals enabled me to suggest; an optimum age of 5-6years to begin Arts Based Hobbies; establish that agents and choreographers search mainly for versatility and good technique with gymnastic moves not a necessity but an added bonus; the equality of time spent practicing dance, drama and singing is favoured to dance with many aspiring performers not participating in all three and lack of time is the most common reason to give up ABH, (popularly Gymnastics, Music and Ballet) with young performers noting that their schoolwork suffers with numerous activities.
Pupils, teachers and Parents and my organisation will benefit from my research as it suggests and supports a phenomena which effects their choice of Arts Based activities, and will hopefully guide them to informed decisions to gain further development.
